2006 Instruction Program

The goal of Lahontan’s Instructional Program is to provide students of all skill levels with the opportunity to improve in a personalized and comfortable manner. Each instructor will stress fundamental improvement while working with the strengths and weaknesses of every student.

Members may schedule private or group lessons. Several Golf Schools and Clinics will be offered throughout the season.

The Junior Rate for students 16 years and under is $25.
Group Lesson Rates and times for 2 to 4 students may be scheduled with each instructor.

Saturday Morning Golf Conditioning

These sessions by instructor Mark Tedsen are meant to help the golfer increase the strength and flexibility in key areas necessary for golfing success. Sign up in the Spa.

Golf Schools


Instructors: Scott Bolen, Todd Michaelsen
Fee: $50 per session

  Each session is limited to 12 participants with a minimum of 4

  Putting – This school will focus on how to get the ball to fall! Students will gain a solid understanding of golfing fundamentals, learn a variety of great practice drills, and will work on how to increase feel.
  Up & Down – This school will focus on the basics of chipping and putting. We’ll discuss the use of different clubs and techniques to help you get the ball close to the pin.

 

Two Day Junior Golf Camp

Instructors: Brian Bischoff, Todd Michaelsen
Fee: $150 per participant. The camp is limited to a maximum of 8 players and a minimum of 4. Any players aged 12-17 are welcome.
Time: July 22th 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  July 23th 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
   
  The camp will cover a combination of practice, playing, course management and game improvement. Learn how to practice correctly and then take your practice sessions to the golf course. The two day camp includes lunch and a take home video of your golf swing.

Ladies’ Golf Clinics

These sessions are great for all levels of golf ability. Beginners and advanced players are encouraged to attend. Each clinic starts with a “lecture style” explanation of the day’s topic and finishes with individual instruction that is targeted towards the student’s specific needs and requests.

Chipping -- How to get the ball into th ehole from around the green in two shots.

Fundamentals of the Full Swing -- A refresher course on the basics.

Thursday, June 29
Irons -- Learn how to hit more consistent iron shots.

Thursday, July 6
Tee Shots -- Start the hole with a good shot and the game becomes a little easier. Learn how to hit more fairways with little effort.

Thursday, July 13
Bunker Shots -- You will not be intimidated by those sand shots any more!

Thursday, August 3
Lobs & Pitches -- Learn how to hit the ball high and make it stop quickly.

Thursday, August 17
Trouble Shots -- Get it back on track and save a good score. Learn how to get the ball into play from the rough, fairway bunders, side hill lies, etc.

Full Swing -- Review of the full swing.

Swing Basics -- Review of the full swing.

On the Course – The group will spend time on the Par 3 Course going over course strategy and proper golf course etiquette.

Wednesday, August 16
Review and Fun – A great day of games and contests!

Junior golfers should be between the ages of 6 and 17.
Proper golf attire is required.
